Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Wiher!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Riley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wiher has managed to clinch.

Wiher jumps into guard, dragging Riley to the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wiher can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wiher looking for a guillotine here but Riley defends easily.
Rileyis looking to pass into half guard but Wiher pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Wiher is in guard.
Wiher stopping the sweep attempt from Riley.

Riley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Wiher has clasped his hands together around Riley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Wiher tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Riley wants to get back to his feet.
Riley is trying to control Wiher's posture but Wiher avoids it.
You can see the frustration on Riley's face as Wiher controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riley stops Wiher from passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riley is pushing Wiher's head away, looking to escape. Wiher manages to hold on to the position though.
Riley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee asks Wiher politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wiher prefers to stall for the moment though.
Riley is trying to buck Wiher off.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Riley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wiher is trying to get an arm triangle but Riley is defending well.
Riley is looking to get back to his feet here but Wiher is keeping cool and he's managed to take Riley's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riley is breathing heavily.
Riley wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Riley won't enjoy being in this position. Wiher looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Riley is tapping - it's over boys! Wiher picks up the submission victory!
