Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Keynes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes to the cage accompanied by Freak On A Leash. Keynes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Concerto for Four Violins in B minor. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Keynes!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keynes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Steele throws a front kick aimed at Keynes's knee but Keynes avoids it well.
Steele throws a half hearted mid kick.

Steele thows a body shot but no joy.

Keynes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steele to the mat! Steele manages to get full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Keynes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Steele with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Steele gets back to full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Keynes postures up.
Keynes trying to control the position from guard on top but Steele is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Steele wants to sweep here but Keynes controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Keynes dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Keynes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Steele eats them both and turns towards Keynes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like George Steele has been cut.
Keynes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Steele.
Steele shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Steele misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Keynes.
Keynes moves out of range of the leg kick from Steele.
John Keynes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steele takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Keynes connects with a solid leg kick.
Keynes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Steele.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steele goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Steele counters with a straight right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Keynes.
A chopping leg kick lands by Keynes.
Steele scores with a kick to the midsection.
Keynes throws a leg kick which misses Steele's front leg but catches the back leg as Steele tries to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Steele. Keynes does a little dance to reset his feet.
Steele throws a sloppy head kick and Keynes moves out of range easily.
Steele pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Steele looks to land a body kick but Keynes moved away.
Steele takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Keynes ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Steele throws a wild body kick that Keynes sees coming a mile off.
Steele fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Keynes is out of range.
