The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Whoosh. Those never looked like landing.
Whoosh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De Winter as he avoids it easily.
De Winter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Whoosh.
Whoosh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zew Whoosh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Winter misses with a takedown
letting Whoosh counter with a right hand.
De Winter has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Whoosh.

A lull in the action here as De Winter stalls from top position.

Whoosh is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, De Winter asserts his dominance and retains side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whoosh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Whoosh paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

De Winter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Whoosh quickly recovers to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

De Winter prevents Whoosh from getting back to his feet.
De Winter not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells De Winter's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
De Winter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
