PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Dominator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden has chosen From Hell by Faces Of Mars as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominick Dominator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fadden has Dominator up against the cage in a clinch.
Fadden goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A frustrated look appears on Dominator's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Fadden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dominator connects with a right hand. Fadden shakes it off.
Fadden closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Fadden gets a clinch.
Fadden lands a shoulder strike.

Fadden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fadden clinches up against the cage.

Fadden lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Fadden seems to be looking for submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fadden is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dominator has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fadden is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dominator is just riding it out for now. Fadden eventually gives up the hold.
Fadden slows the pace down in half guard.

Fadden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Fadden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Fadden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dominator wants to get back to full guard.

Fadden scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Fadden throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dominator to regain full guard.
Fadden working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fadden passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fadden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fadden in side control, throwing shots but Dominator defends.

Dominator avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fadden.

Fadden wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dominator, who protects the arm well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dominator takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Fadden dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Fadden closes the distance and pushes Dominator back into the cage.

Fadden jumps into guard, dragging Dominator to the mat.
Fadden wants to hit a switch here but Dominator passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Fadden there!
Fadden bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Fadden. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Fadden stands up and waves to Dominator to follow him.

and Dominator counters with a nice body kick.
Dominator blocks a head kick by Fadden.
Fadden throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dominator.
Fadden throws a leg kick but Dominator sees it coming and moves out of range.
Fadden fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fadden avoids the head kick by Dominator.
Fadden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dominick Dominator is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dominator throws a sloppy head kick and Fadden moves out of range easily.

Dominator defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fadden.

Fadden manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dominator on his heels. He'll look to pass Dominator's guard now, I'm sure.
Dominator can't keep his opponent in guard - Fadden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fadden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fadden is working Dominator over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jack Fadden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Both fighters circling a little - Dominator finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Fadden tries to clinch up but Dominator circles away and keeps his distance.
Dominator connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Fadden closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fadden prevents Dominator from breaking the clinch.

Fadden manages to break the clinch.

Fadden shoots in and bounces Dominator off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Fadden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dominator looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dominator looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dominator!

Fadden drives through and clinches with Dominator against the cage.
Fadden is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dominator is defending well for now.

Dominator can't break the clinch.

Fadden pulls Dominator into guard.

Fadden had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dominator defends it easily.

Jack Fadden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fadden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
