The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Khan finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.

It looks like Damian Maia has been cut.
Maia swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Khan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maia.
Khan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Khan avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Maia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Khan throws a head kick that Maia semi-blocks.
Khan lands with a nice body punch.

Khan drops Maia with a nice combination! Khan dives into Maia's guard, looking to finish!

Maia is rocked!

That has opened up Damian Maia's cut even more.
Khan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Maia is still in real trouble! Can Khan finish him?

Maia controls Khan momentarily but Khan frees himself.

Maia is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Khan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Khan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Maia seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
