The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright throws a right and a left that both miss.
Williams on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Williams throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Wright pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Wright misses the target.
Left hook, right uppercut from Williams.
Wright waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Williams.
Wright looks to land a left hand but Williams moved out of range nicely.
Wright checks a leg kick nicely.
Wright lands with a cross.
Wright uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Williams.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wright throws a body kick that misses.
Wright lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Williams circles away quickly and effectively.
Wright takes one on the button.
Williams scores with a head kick. Wright tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Wright works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.

Wright just misses with a punch to the body.
Wright displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab.
Williams lands with a kick to the temple. Wright shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Williams lands a front kick.
Williams throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wiremu Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright throws a lazy uppercut
and Williams counters with a head kick. That will keep Wright thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
It looks like Corey Wright has been cut.
Wright misses with an uppercut. Williams saw that one coming.
Wright slips under a jab from Williams.
Wright defending well as Williams loads up on a big left hand.
Williams throws a head kick that half lands.
Williams with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wright to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wright throws a looping overhand right but Williams ducks down to avoid it.
Williams throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Wright takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Williams takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Williams throws a nice outside leg kick.

Wright lands a jab-cross combination.
Williams is rocked!
Wright pounces like a tiger and cracks Williams with a vicious hook! Williams is down but not out! Wright follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Corey Wright was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
