The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kauffmann throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jarven was covering up waiting for the punch and Kauffmann finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jarven is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kauffmann stays in close to Jarven's body and controls the position.
Jarven is trying to control the position but Kauffmann postures up.
Kauffmann trying to control the position from guard on top but Jarven is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kauffmann's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Shaun Kauffmann has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Kauffmann drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kauffmann would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Jarven is trying to hold Kauffmann in close to prevent damage but Kauffmann has managed to pass into half guard.

Kauffmann is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Jarven on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jarven wants to improve his position but Kauffmann is controlling well.
Jarven is staying active underneath Kauffmann, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jarven makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jarven.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jarven is looking for a triangle but Kauffmann pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jarven has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Kauffmann doesn't defend quickly enough and Jarven has managed to lock this one up! Can Kauffmann escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jarven on a fantastic submission victory.
