PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Burning Gundam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Saplin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saplin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Invincible. Marcus Saplin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saplin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gundam paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gundam misses with a wild combination.
Saplin tries to clinch there but Gundam circles away.
Gundam throws a right hand that Saplin ducks under and follows up with a left that Saplin also avoids with ease.

Gundam feints a jab promting Saplin to slip. Gundam then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Saplin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Gundam lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Saplin avoids a punch combination nicely.

Gundam connects with a good right hand that stumbles Saplin. Saplin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Marcus Saplin has been cut.
A jab from Gundam finds it's way through Saplin's defenses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saplin shoots in looking for a takedown. Gundam tries to sprawl out of it but Saplin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gundam manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gundam moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Saplin is rocked!
Saplin is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Gundam just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Saplin has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Burning Gundam!
