The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries for a takedown but Nazarkin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ilia Nazarkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nazarkin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Martin quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Nazarkin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nazarkin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nazarkin has managed to get both his arms back between Martin's legs - danger averted.
Martin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
