Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Macgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Mint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macgowan comes to the cage accompanied by Nyan Cat. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Macgowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Mint!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mint gets the takedown into side control.
Mint working the head and body with strikes.
Macgowan is looking to regain half guard here but Mint keeps moving and retains side control.
Macgowan manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macgowan is looking to stall here but Mint recovers full guard.
Mint has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Macgowan takes a decent strike to the side of the head.

Macgowan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mint is proving hard to escape from.
Macgowan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mint can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mint accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Macgowan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mint doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mint manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mint takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Macgowan has momentary wrist control but Mint slips an elbow through the middle.

Macgowan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mint manages to pass to side control.
Mint looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Macgowan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
