Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Valcone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sen Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nguyen has chosen "House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sen Nguyen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Valcone counters with a two punch combo.
Nguyen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valcone's waist but Valcone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nguyen off to one side.
Nguyen fails with an attempt to clinch.
A left and a right from Valcone both land. Nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nguyen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Valcone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Valcone keeps the fight on the outside.

Valcone drives through with a takedown into guard.
Valcone pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nguyen is keeping the position for now.
Nguyen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Valcone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Valcone working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valcone throws a strike but Nguyen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Nguyen passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nguyen wants to control but Valcone is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Valcone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Valcone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nguyen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Valcone can't do much from the bottom here.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Nguyen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Valcone looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nguyen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Valcone is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nguyen lets go of the hold and Valcone can pop his arm back in it's socket.
