The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Patrick.
Clark bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Patrick's head backwards.
Patrick fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Patrick takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Patrick closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clark circles away.
Clark misses with a jab, cross combination.
Clark lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Horrible takedown by Patrick or perhaps it was just good defense by Clark which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Patrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Clark rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Patrick moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Clark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Patrick wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.

Patrick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Clark is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Clark has escaped and now he's on top!
Clark passes Patrick's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Patrick seems to have got his legs back now.
Patrick is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Clark pulls his head out easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Clark wants to control but Patrick is keeping him busy.
Patrick flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Patrick moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Clark must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Patrick manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Clark counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Patrick thinking.
Patrick is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Clark.
Clark fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Patrick looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
No luck for Patrick with that takedown attempt.

Evan Patrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Patrick shoots in looking for a takedown but Clark manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Patrick's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
