Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dresden Carmichael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobar has chosen Dr. Kitch as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dresden Carmichael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pablo Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar throws a one two combo.
Escobar punishes Carmichael's body with a nice straight punch.

Carmichael manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Escobar on his heels. He'll look to pass Escobar's guard now, I'm sure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carmichael tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Carmichael is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Escobar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Escobar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carmichael is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Escobar!
Escobar is desperately trying to improve his position but Carmichael has a good base and remains in mount.

Carmichael jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Escobar is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Escobar and Carmichael has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Carmichael uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Escobar.
Escobar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carmichael moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Carmichael shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Escobar keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Escobar is refusing to be controlled, as Carmichael sits in half guard.
Escobar is looking for a sweep. Carmichael is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Carmichael perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

We're going to have a standup here because Dresden Carmichael wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Escobar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carmichael uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Escobar.

Carmichael shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Escobar napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carmichael has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Escobar just misses with a punch to the body.

Escobar fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Carmichael drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Carmichael slips nicely into half guard.
Carmichael wants to control but Escobar is keeping him busy.
Carmichael working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Escobar's thigh. Escobar counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Escobar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carmichael manages to get himself to full guard.

Carmichael has his foot on Escobar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Escobar works his way back into a safe position though.

Carmichael manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Escobar manages to get himself to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Carmichael takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Escobar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Escobar tries to reverse the position but Carmichael maintains control.

Escobar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carmichael manages to avoid it.
Pablo Escobar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carmichael drives through with a takedown into guard.

Escobar has Carmichael pulled in close to control his posture.
Carmichael trying to control but Escobar is working from the bottom.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dresden Carmichael.

Carmichael throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carmichael is in Escobar's guard.

Carmichael fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Escobar to the ground. Carmichael is now in Escobar's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Escobar is on top in guard.
Dresden Carmichael is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Escobar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Escobar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dresden Carmichael showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carmichael, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
