Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Batirov. Those never looked like landing.

Batirov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Them's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Batirov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Them swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Batirov looking to sit in guard and control but Them gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Them drops back, looking for a kneebar! Batirov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Batirov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Batirov!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Batirov has Them up against the cage in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Batirov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Them is trying to pull guard but Batirov has him pressed against the cage.

Batirov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Batirov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Them is fighting off a takedown attempt but Batirov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Them to the mat. Them regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Batirov throws a strike but Them rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Them is pushing down on Batirov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Batirov is fighting to maintain full guard but Them has managed to sneak the leg through.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Batirov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Them is looking to control Batirov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Them avoid being mounted?
