Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pieter Pieter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Hikaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Hikaro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pieter Pieter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Hikaro!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pieter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hikaro's waist but Hikaro gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pieter off to one side.
Hikaro looks to land a combination but Pieter avoids it well.
Pieter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hikaro was covering up waiting for the punch and Pieter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pieter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hikaro wants to stand up but Pieter is controlling him.
Pieter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hikaro is keeping the position for now.
Pieter prevents Hikaro from getting back to his feet.
Hikaro keeping moving, preventing Pieter from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pieter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hikaro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pieter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hikaro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hikaro is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Pieter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pieter drops back looking for a leg! Hikaro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hikaro manages to kick Pieter off! Pieter jumps back into Hikaro's guard.
Pieter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pieter stops Hikaro from standing up.
Hikaro scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hikaro wants to clinch up but Pieter keeps it at a distance.
Hikaro fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pieter on the side of the head.
Hikaro shoots for a double leg takedown but Pieter sprawls well. He's pushed Hikaro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Hikaro.
Hikaro pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pieter back to the cage. Hikaro follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hikaro stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Pieter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nate Hikaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pieter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hikaro pushes Pieter off looking to stand but Pieter dives back in and keeps control.
Pieter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hikaro has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pieter slows the pace down in half guard.
Pieter prevents Hikaro from standing back up.
Pieter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Pieter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hikaro is just riding it out for now. Pieter eventually gives up the hold.

Pieter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hikaro sees it coming and defends easily.

Pieter Pieter dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pieter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hikaro moves into range and connects with a jab.
Pieter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hikaro tries to avoid it but Pieter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hikaro to the ground. Hikaro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hikaro swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pieter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hikaro shoots in and gets a takedown into Pieter's guard.
Pieter looking for a guillotine here but Hikaro defends easily.
Hikaro wants to get up but he can't break Pieter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hikaro gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pieter swats away the attempt to clinch by Hikaro.
A lazy left from Hikaro finds it's target.

Hikaro lands a really nice looking cross but Pieter seems unphased.
Pieter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hikaro avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pieter Pieter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

In his post fight interview, Pieter Pieter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
