Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathaniel Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenny Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathaniel Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lenny Butler!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Price avoids it really well and circles away.
Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Butler moves away.
Price fails in his attempt to clinch.

Price throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Butler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Price is in Butler's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Price stays in close to Butler's body and controls the position.
Butler has Price pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Price preventing the sweep.
Price is stalling in the full guard.
Butler looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nathaniel Price.
Butler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice sprawl there from Butler as Price shoots in.
Butler takes a swing at Price's ribcage but misses.
Butler throws a half hearted mid kick.

Price looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Butler wants to improve his position but Price is controlling well.
Price takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Price is trying to control. Butler wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Butler keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Price looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Price stalling.
Butler wants to control but Price is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Butler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nathaniel Price has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Butler.

Butler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Butler has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Price has passed into side control.

Price stands up.

Butler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Butler looks gassed!
Butler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Price but Price pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Price darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Butler tries to get to full guard but Price has control of the leg.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Butler actively working from the bottom here.
Price looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathaniel Price dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Price shoots in for a double leg but Butler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Price fails with the takedown.

Butler feints and as Price raises his hands in defense, Butler changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Price working for a triangle but Butler defends it easily.
Butler trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Price looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Butler stands and throws Price's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Nathaniel Price overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Price manages to get back to half guard.
Butler perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Butler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Price trying to control but Butler postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Butler is trying to control the action in half guard but Price is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Price gets full guard.

Butler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Price is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Price has escaped and now he's on top!

Price is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Butler is wriggling around but Price manages to pass to half guard.
Price is trying to control the action in half guard but Butler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Price content to control rather than advance.
Butler is trying to control but can't.

Butler tries to get to full guard but Price has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Price tries to clinch up but Butler circles away and keeps his distance.
Price shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Butler as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathaniel Price. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Price throws a right and a left that Butler avoids nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Price shoots in and drives through. Butler sprawls well.
Price closes the distance and clinches up with Butler, looking for a takedown. Price pushes Butler against the cage but Butler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Butler drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Lenny Butler will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Butler lands with a hook. Price tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Butler circles away from the clinch attempt.

Butler is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Price's half guard.
Price has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Butler is working away from the top position though.
Price wants to get back to his feet.
Price makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Price.
Butler tries to free his leg and advance position but Price is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Price preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Butler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Price has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Butler doesn't defend quickly enough and Price has managed to lock this one up! Can Butler escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Price on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nathaniel Price!
