PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Getty Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Veron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veron has chosen Breathe - Prodigy as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Getty Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Veron!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veron lands a nice leg kick that just misses Li's sensitive parts.
Li fails to land the takedown.
Li shoots in for a takedown but Veron shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Veron with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Veron chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Li tries to close the distance and clinch but Veron swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Veron pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Veron instigates a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Veron.
Veron lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Getty Li has been cut.
Veron lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Veron scores with a shoulder strike.
Veron lands a damaging elbow.
Veron gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Veron softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Veron is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Li tries to pull guard but Veron won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Getty Li. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Still in the clinch, Veron scores with a nice short uppercut.
A knee to the head by Veron.
Li jumps guard but Veron stands there with Li around his waist. Li gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Veron.
Li drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Veron gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Veron tries a body shot but Li blocks it.
Veron lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Veron can't find room to land a body shot as Li controls the action.
A left hand lands to the body for Veron.

Veron comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Li fails to pull guard.
Veron pushes Li back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Li takes an elbow to the forehead.
Veron lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Li backwards.
Li jumps guard but Veron stands there with Li around his waist. Li gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Veron lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Veron stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Veron breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hugo Veron is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Veron throws a nice inside leg kick.
Veron scores with a sloppy right hand. Li should have avoided that one.
Li takes a shot to the body in his stride.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Li tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Veron paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Li shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Li gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Veron counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Li is rocked!
Veron scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Oh Li is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Li gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Veron points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Li wakes up just in time to hear Veron thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

During a confident post fight interview, Hugo Veron thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
