PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyan Cadell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cadell comes into the arena with Run to the Hills blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boyan Cadell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Rua!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cadell lands an overhand right.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua.
Rua keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rua tries for a takedown but Cadell circles away easily
and Cadell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rua keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cadell.
Cadell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cadell throws a series of punches but Rua avoids them all with ease.

Cadell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rua to the mat! Rua manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cadell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rua can't keep his opponent in guard - Cadell advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua is looking for a sweep. Cadell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cadell moves nicely into side control.
Cadell is looking to take a break and control but Rua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cadell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cadell throws a head kick but Rua moves out of range.
Rua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boyan Cadell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Rua.
Rua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cadell but Cadell pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cadell throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily.
Rua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cadell clinches.
Rua jumps guard but Cadell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cadell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cadell lands with a kick to the temple. Rua shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cadell clinches up with Rua and pushes him back against the cage.
Rua has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cadell after a bit of a struggle.

Cadell manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jab, jab by Rua - just one landing.

Cadell scores a takedown into full mount!
Cadell controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cadell working for a guillotine from mount but Rua is in no mood to give up.
Cadell trying to control but Rua is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cadell moves to the back position.
Cadell controlling from the back.
Cadell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rua for as long as he can get away with.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cadell working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Rua is doing well to defend. Cadell seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Rua is forced to tap and this one is over!

A relieved looking Boyan Cadell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
