The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill wants to clinch.

North scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

North is working for a kimura but Hill is defending it quite comfortably.
North is looking to advance position but Hill won't allow it.
North seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hill does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
North tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hill controls his leg.
Hill trying to hold on to North's head to control him but North postures up.

We're going to have a standup here because Marksamis Hill wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

North tries to keep at a distance but Hill has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hill stuffs the takedown.
Hill tries for a takedown but North sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hill throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hill fails in his attempt to clinch.

Marksamis Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
North swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hill misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Hill tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but North swivels and escapes.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Hill looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by North! Submission of the night perhaps?
