The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bravo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ruiz swivels and escapes.

so Ruiz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Bravo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ruiz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ruiz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bravo is looking for a sweep. Ruiz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ruiz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ruiz wants to free his trapped foot but Bravo is holding on for dear life with his legs.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ruiz has eaten all the pies!
Bravo manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Bravo is breathing heavily.
