Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Kanoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimo Kanoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Silver!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kimo Kanoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kanoa.
Silver bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kanoa's head backwards.
Good leg kick by Kanoa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kanoa throws a low kick but Silver moves out of range easily.
Silver tries to clinch up but Kanoa circles away and keeps his distance.

Silver fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kanoa sprawls well initially but Silver persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Silver is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kanoa is refusing to be controlled, as Silver sits in half guard.
Silver wants to advance to full mount but Kanoa doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Silver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kanoa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kanoa is adopting a defensive guard.

Silver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Silver drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kanoa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kanoa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kanoa!

Silver closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kimo Kanoa will probably get the nod.
