Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khalid Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clyde Renato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hayes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Flight of Icarus. Renato is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Radio Video" by System of a Down. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes thuds his shin into the meat of Renato's side.
Renato throws a looping overhand right but Hayes ducks down to avoid it.
Hayes motions for Renato to come forward. Hayes throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Khalid Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hayes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hayes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Renato counters with a left and a right that stings Hayes.
Renato shoots in but Hayes avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Renato won't allow Hayes to get back to his feet.
Hayes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Renato on the ground.
Hayes pulls Renato in close to prevent any damage.
Hayes tries to land a sweep but no joy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Renato shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hayes sprawls well. Hayes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Renato gets slowly back to his feet.

Hayes throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Renato throws out a loose jab but Hayes uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Hayes counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Renato thinking.
Hayes lands the left hand.
Hayes is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hayes looks to land a combination but Renato avoids it well.
Renato is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hayes.
Renato takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sloppy strikes from Renato. Those never looked like landing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Renato misses with a low kick.
Renato changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayes tries to avoid it but Renato manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayes to the ground. Hayes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Renato wants to clinch but Hayes slips to the side
and Renato takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hayes fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hayes.
Hayes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Renato doesn't seem bothered though.
Renato fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Renato fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hayes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Renato moves out of range as Hayes throws a body kick.

Renato takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice uppercut there from Hayes.
Hayes throws a front kick aimed at Renato's knee but Renato avoids it well.
Renato tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayes was well out of range. Poor timing from Renato.

Hayes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Renato is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
