The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Spooner. No joy for OReily on that attempt.
A nice combination there by Spooner.
OReily shoots in looking for a takedown but Spooner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing OReily's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
OReily takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
OReily avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
OReily fails with a takedown attempt.

Spooner throws a looping overhand right but OReily ducks down to avoid it.

Spooner is looking to break free of the clinch but OReily has double underhooks.
Spooner lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Spooner is trying to push OReily away but OReily has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
OReily tries for a takedown. No joy.

OReily has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Spooner avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

OReily pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spooner defends well against a solid takedown attempt from OReily.

OReily shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

OReily manages to capitalize on a mistake by Spooner to take his back!

OReily is working for a rear naked choke. Spooner is not defending it well and OReily has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Spooner refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Spooner's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan OReily!
A very excited looking Ryan OReily rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
