Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bat Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rutecki has chosen Remember the Name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutecki wants to clinch up but Man keeps it at a distance.
Man tries for a takedown but Rutecki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rutecki misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Man.
Rutecki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rutecki wants it to stay on the feet.
Rutecki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rutecki leaves Man with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Man looks to land a combination but Rutecki avoids it well.

Rutecki tries to sprawl but Man drives through with a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Rutecki wants to stand but Man has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Man looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rutecki has picked Man up and slammed him! Man can't keep hold of the triangle and Rutecki manages to pass to side control!

Rutecki decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Rutecki throws a sloppy head kick and Man moves out of range easily.
Rutecki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Rutecki tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rutecki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rutecki slips a jab and a cross from Man.
Bat Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Man is breathing heavily.
Man avoids the head kick by Rutecki.
Rutecki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Man stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rutecki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rutecki sees it coming and defends easily.

Man postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rutecki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Man, into his guard.

Man is working for a kimura here but Rutecki manages to reverse the position and he's now in Man's guard.

Bat Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rutecki lands a leg kick that knocks Man off balance momentarily.
Rutecki throws a nice looking combination but Man bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Man takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Man throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rutecki was covering up waiting for the punch and Man finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Man tries to bum rush Rutecki with a series of wild strikes but Rutecki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rutecki rushes Man and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Man goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rutecki prevents it.
Rutecki throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Man is working for takedown but Rutecki is calmly controlling the position for now.

Man blocks the elbow strike.
Rutecki crunches a lovely knee into Man's ribcage.
