Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Trudeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taro Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Trudeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taro Mishima!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Trudeau checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Trudeau steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mishima.
Mishima cracks Trudeau with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mishima throws a low kick but Trudeau avoids it.
Nice straight punches there by Trudeau. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Trudeau.
Trudeau jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Trudeau swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Trudeau throws out a loose jab but Mishima uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mishima misses with a wild body shot.
Trudeau uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mishima has time to react.

Trudeau connects with a right hand. Mishima shakes it off.
Mishima keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Trudeau tries to keep at a distance but Mishima has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trudeau is pushing Mishima up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mishima creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Taro Mishima was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Trudeau fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Trudeau connects with a body shot that sends Mishima's belly button to the back.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mishima ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mishima closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Trudeau's guard.
Trudeau pulls Mishima in to control the position.
Trudeau wants to sweep here but Mishima controlling him for the moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Trudeau shoots in but Mishima avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Trudeau throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mishima was covering up waiting for the punch and Trudeau finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Trudeau wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mishima, who protects the arm well.

Trudeau postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Mishima is looking for a sweep.

Trudeau is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mishima knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mishima is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Trudeau defends it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mishima wants to lay and pray for a moment but Trudeau keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Trudeau shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mishima sprawls well. Mishima wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trudeau gets slowly back to his feet.

Mishima has Trudeau pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mishima pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Trudeau tumbling to the mat - Mishima dives into Trudeau's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mishima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Trudeau looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Mishima instigates a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Mishima scores with a nice short uppercut.

Trudeau tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Trudeau misses with some punches.

Mishima breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mishima misses the shot to the body.
Trudeau on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Trudeau throws a lazy right hand but Mishima sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Mishima shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trudeau's guard.
Trudeau is trying to keep Mishima in close.
Mishima looking to sit in guard and control but Trudeau gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mishima lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Trudeau!
Mishima seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Trudeau is holding on tight.
Trudeau is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Trudeau is looking to get to half guard.
Mishima content just to control the position here.

Mishima swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Trudeau is now in Mishima's guard. A big mistake from Mishima there, giving up the dominant position!

And that's the end of the fight!
Taro Mishima comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mishima has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
