The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Dempsey.
Sonnen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
KJ Dempsey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sonnen swats away the attempt to clinch by Dempsey.
Dempsey throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sonnen.

It looks like Fail Sonnen has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sonnen moves out of range of the leg kick from Dempsey.
Dempsey misses with a few strikes there.
Dempsey works Sonnen's body with a nice hook.

Dempsey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dempsey misses with a double jab.
Dempsey stalks Sonnen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sonnen's face. Sonnen staggers backwards, shaken.
Dempsey tries to close the distance and clinch but Sonnen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dempsey scores with a kick to the body.
Dempsey staying out of range there.
Dempsey lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Sonnen looks gassed!
Dempsey misses with a series of wild punches.

Sonnen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A nice combination there by Dempsey.

Sonnen is rocked!
Dempsey cracks Sonnen with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Sonnen falls to his knees and Dempsey doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
