Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Barker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wyatt Earp!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Barker. No joy for Earp on that attempt.

Barker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Earp sprawls well initially but Barker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Earp actively working from the bottom here.
Barker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Earp on the ground.

Barker wants to work for an arm triangle but Earp is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Earp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barker paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Earp tries to keep at a distance but Barker has taken the fight into the clinch.
Earp goes for a takedown attempt but Barker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Earp gets tackled into the cage by Barker. Barker maintains the clinch.
Earp takes a knee to the side of the body.

Barker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Earp backwards.
Earp prevents a takedown attempt there.

Barker gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Barker is looking for a kimura but Earp is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Barker to get the leverage.

Barker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Barker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Barker slips a nice elbow through Earp's hands, connecting with Earp's forehead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Earp is refusing to be controlled, as Barker sits in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Earp gets full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Barker displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Earp.
Earp wants to clinch up but Barker keeps it at a distance.

Earp gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Barker tries to stand but Earp is controlling from the bottom.

Earp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Barker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Earp, up you get!
Earp is breathing heavily.
Barker tries to clinch but Earp moves out of range.
Barker keeps Earp at a distance using the push kick.

Barker throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Earp tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barker is in Earp's guard.
Barker trying to control the position from guard on top but Earp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barker is stalling in the full guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Earp can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barker controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Andrew Barker just wasn't active enough.

Barker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Andrew Barker.

Earp has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Barker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Earp pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Earp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Earp shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Earp connects with a nice short shot to Barker's temple.

Andrew Barker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Andrew Barker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Earp is working Barker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

I would just about give that final round to Wyatt Earp.
Well Barker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
