PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Pelaez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forest Speyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pelaez comes to the cage accompanied by Never gonna give you up-Rick Astley. On his way into the cage it seems that Jason Pelaez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jason Pelaez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Pelaez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forest Speyer!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speyer shoots in but Pelaez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Speyer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pelaez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Speyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pelaez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Forest Speyer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pelaez shoots for a takedown but Speyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Speyer is pressed up against the cage. Pelaez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Speyer down to the mat. Speyer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Speyer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pelaez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Speyer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pelaez's waist but Pelaez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Speyer off to one side.
Speyer shoots for a double leg takedown but Pelaez sprawls well. He's pushed Speyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Forest Speyer seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Speyer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pelaez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Forest Speyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Forest Speyer.
Well Speyer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
