The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mikko Ruutu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell avoids a kick to the body.
Liddell swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ruutu counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ruutu is working for takedown but Liddell is calmly controlling the position for now.
Liddell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ruutu keeps control of Liddell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Liddell tries to circle away but Ruutu has him pinned against the cage.
Liddell prevents the takedown attempt.

and Ruutu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Liddell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Liddell buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Liddell throws a big shot that misses.
Ruutu closes the distance and clinches.
Liddell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ruutu has Liddell pressed against the cage, preventing Liddell from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Ruutu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Liddell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Liddell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ruutu's calf.
Ruutu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Liddell loads up on a big right hand but Ruutu slips the punch.
Liddell misses with a hook.
Chuck Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ruutu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ruutu maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Liddell could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ruutu has cracked it and Liddell is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ruutu!
