Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Bermudez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henk Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Bermudez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Henk Tank!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bermudez closes the distance looking to clinch
and Tank counters with a head kick. That will keep Bermudez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Tank shoots for a double leg takedown but Bermudez sprawls well. He's pushed Tank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tank shoots in looking for a takedown but Bermudez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tank's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A punch combination from Bermudez misses.
Bermudez is looking to clinch but Tank is avoiding it.
Bermudez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Tank shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tank showed some decent athleticism there.
Well, if Tank is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Bermudez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bermudez.

Tank wants to get up but he can't break Bermudez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bermudez wants to stand but Tank is controlling the position.
Tank throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bermudez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tank manages to get himself to full guard.
Tank has a closed guard, preventing Bermudez from standing up.

Tank is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bermudez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tank, up you get!

Bermudez gets caught flat footed, as Tank shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tank is looking to advance position but Bermudez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tank is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bermudez prevents Tank from getting the reversal.
Tank wants to control but Bermudez is having none of it.

Bermudez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Tank manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Tank, under a barage of strikes from Bermudez.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bermudez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tank's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Bermudez will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bermudez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bermudez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tank manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tank changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bermudez tries to avoid it but Tank manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bermudez to the ground. Bermudez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Diego Bermudez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tank stuffs the takedown attempt from Bermudez. Bermudez gets slowly back to his feet.
Bermudez shoots in looking for a takedown. Tank tries to sprawl out of it but Bermudez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

No luck for Tank with that takedown attempt.
Bermudez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tank as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Bermudez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Bermudez counters with a head kick. That will keep Tank thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Tank walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bermudez.
Bermudez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bermudez is looking to slow Tank down with leg kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bermudez. Tank does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bermudez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bermudez shoots in looking for a takedown. Tank tries to sprawl out of it but Bermudez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bermudez doesn't manage to clinch there - Tank circles away.

Bermudez gets a takedown into half guard.
Tank is not content to let Bermudez control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tank has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bermudez is working away from the top position though.

Bermudez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bermudez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tank does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tank slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Bermudez wants to get up but he can't break Tank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Tank bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bermudez's guard.
Tank stays in close to Bermudez's body and controls the position.
Tank postures up.
Bermudez wants to get back to his feet but Tank is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Tank is looking to work some ground and pound but Bermudez has wrist control.

Bermudez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bermudez can't keep his opponent in guard - Tank advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bermudez is in trouble now - Tank has advanced to mount!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Diego Bermudez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Henk Tank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bermudez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
