Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim Bob Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Silva wants to clinch but Papillia slips to the side

and Papillia counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Papillia is having none of it.

Silva has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Papillia off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Papillia misses with a low kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Papillia.
Silva closes the distance but Papillia moves to the side
and Papillia counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Papillia to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Papillia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Papillia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Papillia scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The fighters circle momentarily. Papillia darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Papillia goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silva tries to clinch
and Papillia counters with a stiff right hand.
Silva closes the distance but Papillia moves to the side
and Papillia counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.


Silva is rocked!
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Papillia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Papillia finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Papillia counters with a left to the body.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.

and Papillia counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Papillia to acknowledge the strikes.
Papillia feints with a jab and clips Silva right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Silva is sent crashing into the canvas and Papillia leaps in for the kill! Silva tries to get to his feet but Papillia is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Silva is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Draught Papillia!
Draught Papillia decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
