Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axe Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe Hammer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer lands a nice hook to Diaz's body. Diaz takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hammer lands with a shot to the body.
Hammer throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease.

Hammer throws a hook to the side of Diaz's head but Diaz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Diaz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hammer won't be happy with that.
Diaz is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hammer will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Diaz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hammer, who protects the arm well.

Hammer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hammer throws a shot from downtown. Diaz moves away and avoids it.
Diaz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hammer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Donk. Hammer catches Diaz right on the button with a cross.
Hammer cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Diaz jumps guard but Hammer stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We're going to have a standup here because Nick Diaz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hammer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod.

and Diaz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hammer is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Hammer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz walks into a stiff left hand from Hammer.
Diaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hammer.
Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown but Hammer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Diaz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Hammer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hammer as he avoids it easily.
Diaz takes a body punch but keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Axe Hammer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hammer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Diaz sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hammer sprawls well. Hammer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Diaz tries to bum rush Hammer with a series of wild strikes but Hammer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Hammer which made him look bad.

Diaz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hammer avoids it really well and circles away.

Axe Hammer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
