The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grisham throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Franks.
A big right from Franks misses.
Franks tries to clinch there but Grisham circles away.
Grisham showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Franks.

Grisham gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Grisham scores a nice knee to the body.

Franks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grisham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grisham is looking to advance position but Franks won't allow it.

Grisham seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Franks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Franks is not content to let Grisham control the position.

Grisham wants to free his trapped foot but Franks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Grisham uses his free foot to push down on Franks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Franks.
Grisham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Grisham throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Franks because Grisham loaded up on that one.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Franks wants to hold on but Grisham pushes him away.
Grisham tries to control but Franks wriggling away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Grisham swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Franks misses with a series of wild punches.
Grisham will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Franks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grisham moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Franks shoots in for a takedown but Grisham shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Franks clinches with his opponent.

Grisham breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Franks finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Grisham shoots in for a double leg but Franks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Grisham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grisham lands with a slapping head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Grisham's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Grisham closes the distance and clinches up with Franks, looking for a takedown. Grisham pushes Franks against the cage but Franks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Franks connects with a superb combination that knocks Grisham out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Franks before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Grisham!
