Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mad Dog Vachon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vachon comes to the cage accompanied by Gros jambon. Silver has chosen Snow (Hey Oh) as his entrance music. Jean Silver has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mad Dog Vachon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mad Dog Vachon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Silver!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vachon misses with a wild body shot.
Vachon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silver sprawls well. Silver wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vachon gets slowly back to his feet.

and Silver counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Vachon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Vachon pulls guard effortlessly.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Silver got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vachon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silver has managed to get both his arms back between Vachon's legs - danger averted.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silver chips away with some ground and pound.
Silver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vachon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vachon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silver is aware though and is defending well.
Silver wants to pass the guard but Vachon is keeping the position.
Silver connects with a couple of short punches.
Silver keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vachon's head.
Vachon wants to stand but Silver is controlling the position.
Vachon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Silver wants to control from the top but Vachon keeps moving.
Silver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vachon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Mad Dog Vachon will probably get the nod.

Vachon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silver as he jumps to the side.
The crowd cheers as Silver lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vachon doesn't seem phased though.

Vachon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Dog Vachon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Silver throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silver is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Silver lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice takedown defense from Silver. No joy for Vachon on that attempt.
Silver throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vachon throws a hook but Silver avoids it easily.

Silver wants to pass the guard but Vachon is keeping the position.

Silver is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vachon is just riding it out for now. Silver eventually gives up the hold.

Silver is working an open guard so Vachon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mad Dog Vachon will probably get the nod.

Vachon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silver tries to avoid it but Vachon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silver to the ground. Silver escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vachon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silver pinned against the cage. Silver gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Dog Vachon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vachon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Silver throws a lazy right hand but Vachon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vachon. Silver does a little dance to reset his feet.

Vachon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silver keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Vachon fails with a takedown attempt.
Silver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vachon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vachon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silver stuffs the takedown attempt from Vachon. Vachon gets slowly back to his feet.

Vachon throws a head kick that misses.
Vachon doesn't manage to clinch there - Silver circles away.

Mad Dog Vachon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silver catches Vachon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Vachon doesn't manage to clinch there - Silver circles away.
Silver throws a looping overhand right but Vachon ducks down to avoid it.
Jean Silver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jean Silver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vachon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silver lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Vachon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.

and Silver counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mad Dog Vachon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Silver circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vachon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silver throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vachon shoots in looking for a takedown but Silver manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vachon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Silver throws a jab but it's blocked by Vachon.
Vachon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vachon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jean Silver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vachon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
