Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kooch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Charyak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kooch comes into the arena with Rusko - Tru Powwa blaring out of the sound system. Charyak is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eminem-Won't Back Down. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Kooch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Craig Charyak!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Kooch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Charyak's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Charyak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kooch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kooch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Charyak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kooch is working away from the top position though.

Kooch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Charyak moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kooch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charyak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Charyak had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kooch defends it easily.

Charyak is trying to hold Kooch in close to prevent damage but Kooch has managed to pass into half guard.
Charyak is staying active underneath Kooch, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kooch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Kooch will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Charyak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kooch quickly recovers to half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kooch is on top in guard.
Kooch wants to control from the top but Charyak keeps moving.

Charyak tries to kick Kooch off but Kooch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kooch is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Charyak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kooch.
The fighters are battling for position here. Charyak manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Charyak is desperately trying to improve his position but Kooch has a good base and remains in mount.

Charyak tries to improve his position but Kooch has taken his back! Kooch has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Charyak tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kooch pushes Charyak away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
