Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Long.
Jake Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice combination there by Long.
Hogan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hogan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Long tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hogan was well out of range. Poor timing from Long.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hogan blocks a head kick by Long.
Long connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hogan throws a series of punches but Long avoids them all with ease.
Long rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hogan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hogan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Long throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jake Long has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Hogan.
Long cracks a nice hook into Hogan's ribs.
Hogan avoids the body shot from Long.
Hogan avoids the head kick by Long.
Hogan shoots in for a double leg but Long sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Long slaps away a takedown attempt from Hogan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Long connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Long misses with a double jab.

Long throws a series of punches but Hogan moves out of range.
Long is breathing heavily.
Hogan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Long circles away.

Hogan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Long to the ground. Hogan is now in Long's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hogan wants to pass the guard but Long is keeping the position.
Long keeping moving, preventing Hogan from controlling successfully.

Long has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hogan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Long gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hogan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hogan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hogan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hogan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Long can't keep his opponent in guard - Hogan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Long tries to kick Hogan off but Hogan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hogan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hogan is looking for a kimura but Long is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hogan to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Long dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Hogan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Long wants to get back to his feet.

Hogan seems to be working for a kimura but Long defends the submission attempt.

Long is defending against the submission attempts here by Hogan.
Long tries to kick Hogan off in order to stand up. Hogan Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Hogan tries for a kimura but Long is defending well.
Hogan working the head and body with strikes.
Long is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hogan has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hogan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Long has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hogan is trying to get an arm triangle but Long is defending well.

Hogan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Long is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hogan decides to stand back up.
Hogan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Long.

Long looks to land a combination but Hogan avoids it well.

Hogan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hogan is working for a submission of some sort.
Long wants to stand back up but Hogan manages to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Long's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Long's corner calls for a 1-2. Long obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Long bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hogan's head.
Jake Long is winning the standup battle so far.
Hogan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Long.
Long scores with a nice right hand.
Hogan throws a shot from downtown. Long moves away and avoids it.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Long tries a head kick but it misses.
Hogan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Long finds it's way round the side to connect with Hogan's head.

Hogan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hogan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Hogan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Long, who protects the arm well.
Hogan cracks Long with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hogan is working Long over with some ground and pound from side control.
Long is trying to buck Hogan off.
Hogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Long keeps working.

Hogan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hogan moves into full mount!

Long defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hogan.
Hogan scoring with strikes but Long is staying in there.
Long wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hogan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Long can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Long tries to buck Hogan off but he can't manage it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hogan is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Hogan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Long!

And that's the end of the fight!
Randy Hogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hogan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Randy Hogan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
