PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Luther (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bonjasky might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to -=Fried Day=-. Luther has chosen Superheroes by Edguy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. David Luther told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Luther!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luther throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Bonjasky counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Bonjasky cracks Luther with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Luther connects with a right hand. Bonjasky shakes it off.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bonjasky.
Bonjasky misses with a looping left.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circling - Bonjasky throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Good leg kick by Bonjasky there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bonjasky chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bonjasky scores with a jab. Luther acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Bonjasky lands a nice looking body kick.
Luther looks gassed!
Decent striking displayed by Bonjasky there.
Bonjasky is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Luther thows a body shot but no joy.
Bonjasky lands with a shot to the body.
Bonjasky lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luther takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A good leg kick by Bonjasky.
Luther throws a jab when Bonjasky was well out of range.
Bonjasky blocks a jab.
Bonjasky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A punch lands to the side of Luther 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A big right from Bonjasky misses.
Luther tries a head kick but it misses.
Luther walks straight into a right hand from Bonjasky - that's dropped him! Bonjasky jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Luther from any more punishment! Luther complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ernesto Bonjasky!
A relieved looking Ernesto Bonjasky thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
