Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shunsuke Mizuno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Liu Kang!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang gets caught flat footed, as Mizuno shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mizuno loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mizuno missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mizuno is looking to work some ground and pound but Kang has wrist control.
Mizuno throws an elbow that misses. Kang uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mizuno's guard. Nice move by Kang!

Mizuno looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mizuno is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kang decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mizuno, up you get!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Mizuno.

Mizuno drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mizuno tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kang's legs.
Mizuno cracks Kang with a big right hand but Kang just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kang looks to move to half guard but instead Mizuno has passed into mount! Damn!
Kang can't escape the position.
Mizuno with shots to the head and body - Kang looks very uncomfortable down there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kang is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mizuno punishing his opponent with strikes.

A big strike lands for Mizuno! That's really hurt Kang and he's turned his back - Mizuno keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Mizuno jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
