Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Vanderbilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edgar Poe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Vanderbilt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vanderbilt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Poe's guard.
Poe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Poe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vanderbilt is controlling him.
Poe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vanderbilt's guard.
Poe tries to free his leg and advance position but Vanderbilt is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vanderbilt wants to stand and escape but Poe is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vanderbilt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Poe has Vanderbilt in his guard.
Poe is breathing heavily.
Vanderbilt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Poe looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Vanderbilt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Poe doesn't manage to clinch there - Vanderbilt circles away.

Vanderbilt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Poe is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Vanderbilt is looking to take a break and control but Poe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vanderbilt slows the pace down.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vanderbilt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Poe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Poe feints and as Vanderbilt raises his hands in defense, Poe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vanderbilt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poe throws a head kick but Vanderbilt moves out of range.
Poe is looking to clinch but Vanderbilt is avoiding it.
Poe throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vanderbilt sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Poe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Vanderbilt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Vanderbilt in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Poe tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Vanderbilt!
