The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a nice hook to Linguist's body. Linguist takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Smith tries to bum rush Linguist with a series of wild strikes but Linguist uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Linguist shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Linguist gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Linguist defends well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Linguist accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
