PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaarlo Sonninen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urvin Andrea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrea has chosen VYBZ KARTEL- RAMPING SHOP as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonninen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Andrea fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sonninen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Andrea just misses with a punch to the body.
Sonninen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sonninen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Andrea sprawls well. Andrea wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sonninen gets slowly back to his feet.

Sonninen walks into a left hand.

It looks like Kaarlo Sonninen has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Andrea moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Andrea drops Sonninen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sonninen looks back up at him and smiles so Andrea waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Sonninen is rocked!

Sonninen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andrea to the mat! Andrea manages to get full guard.
Oh Sonninen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Andrea lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sonninen's sensitive parts.
Andrea connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Andrea tries to land a front kick but Sonninen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sonninen misses with a wild body shot.

Andrea lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Andrea slips a jab and a cross from Sonninen.
Sonninen fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaarlo Sonninen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Andrea does no damage.
Sonninen lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sonninen.
Sonninen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kaarlo Sonninen's cut is getting worse.
Andrea cracks Sonninen with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sonninen tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Andrea pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Sonninen is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urvin Andrea!
