Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Steffan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vieira kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eminem - Go to sleep. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fabio Vieira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karl Steffan!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steffan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vieira pinned against the cage. Vieira gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vieira throws a right and a left that both miss.

Steffan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Steffan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Steffan landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Vieira is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Steffan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Steffan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vieira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vieira is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vieira is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Steffan off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Steffan's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vieira looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Vieira swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Steffan is now in Vieira's guard. A big mistake from Vieira there, giving up the dominant position!
Steffan throwing strikes from guard but Vieira blocks nicely.
Steffan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Steffan tries to free his leg and advance position but Vieira is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steffan content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Vieira has locked up a guillotine! Vieira's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Steffan is holding on here and Vieira must be using up a lot of energy. Steffan has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Vieira gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
