The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toby looks for a takedown but Sanchez sprawls well.
Toby swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Toby.
Toby avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sanchez is looking to clinch but Toby is avoiding it.

and Toby counters with a nice uppercut.

Ricardo Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Toby, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Toby against the ropes but Toby circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Toby keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
John Toby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Sanchez.

Toby throws a nice looking combination but Sanchez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Toby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Toby stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Toby wants it to stay on the feet.
Toby throws a series of punches but Sanchez moves out of range.

Sanchez drops his hands momentarily and Toby takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sanchez tries to work over Toby's front leg with a kick but Toby checks it.

and Toby counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sanchez's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sanchez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Toby!

Sanchez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Toby can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
