Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chew Backer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Knot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Chew Backer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ted Knot!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Backer is fending him off so far but Knot persists. Nope, Backer circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Knot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Backer scores with a takedown into Knot's guard.
Backer is looking to advance position but Knot has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Backer is looking to improve his position but Knot isn't that keen on the idea.
Backer wants to hold on but Knot pushes him away.

Knot wants to finish this one by submission but Backer is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Knot.

Knot cracks Backer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Knot tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Backer wants to control but Knot is having none of it.

Knot breaks from Backer's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Knot cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Knot wants to control the pace but Backer is squirming around nicely.
Knot lands a nice shot to the head.
Backer tries to hold on but Knot pushes him away.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ted Knot just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Knot scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Backer doesn't seem bothered though.

Knot darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Knot decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Knot tries to clinch but Backer is having none of it.

Backer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Knot gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Knot jumps guard but Backer stands there with Knot around his waist. Knot gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Knot bucks up and tries to throw Backer off but instead Backer has got his back!

Knot is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Backer off. It looks like it's working - Backer slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Knot displaying calm under pressure there.

Knot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Backer circles away.
Chew Backer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Knot.

Backer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Knot smiles and moves away.

Knot gets to his feet. Backer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Backer has closed the distance and engaged Knot in a clinch.
Knot tries to score a body lock takedown but Backer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Knot tries to stall but Backer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Knot wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Backer manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Backer with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Knot takes an elbow to the forehead.
Backer looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Backer tries for a takedown. No joy.
Knot fails to pull guard.

Backer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Knot is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Backer to the mat. Backer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Backer is working an open guard so Knot takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Backer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Backer wants to pass to mount but Knot is defending the position.

BOOM! Backer connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Backer postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Knot badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Backer around the waist but Backer pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Backer is the winner by TKO! Backer jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chew Backer!
