PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Orion Sapporo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobo Plata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Plata has chosen Master of Puppets as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapporo misses with a takedown attempt - Plata sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Plata fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sapporo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Plata connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Plata is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sapporo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sapporo duly obliges.

The fighters are battling for position here. Plata manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Plata is pulling down on Sapporo's head. It's preventing any offense from Sapporo, at least for the moment.
Plata wants to stand up but Sapporo is controlling him.

Plata had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sapporo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Plata Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sapporo's back instead.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Plata is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Plata might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sapporo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Plata is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sapporo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Plata controls Sapporo momentarily but Sapporo frees himself.

Sapporo stands and steps away. Plata gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Orion Sapporo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Plata goes for a counter takedown and lands it with interest - it's knocked his opponent senseless! It looks like Plata 's shoulder did the damage as the two fighters hit the mat.
