Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Davis Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Saunders told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Saunders!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Saunders.
Saunders misses with a double jab
and Davies counters with a two punch combo.

Davies bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Davies lands a decent elbow from side control.
Saunders tries to improve position but can't.
Saunders looks gassed!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davies is putting a hurting on Saunders here, landing some big shots from side control.

Davies working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Davies tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Davies has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Davies is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Saunders is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Davies is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Saunders has escaped the position, nice work there.

Saunders wants to control but Davies postures up.
Davies wants to control for a moment but Saunders uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Davies maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Saunders could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Davies has cracked it and Saunders is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Davies!

After the fight, Davis Davies was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
