Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Pynchon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ari Antenni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Pynchon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ari Antenni!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pynchon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Antenni.
Pynchon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pynchon throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pynchon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pynchon throws a series of punches but Antenni avoids them all with ease.
Antenni fails in his attempt to clinch.
Antenni tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Pynchon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Antenni's guard now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Pynchon postures up.
Pynchon scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Antenni is looking to sweep but instead, Pynchon has passed into half guard.
Antenni keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pynchon thows a huge punch but Antenni dodges it nicely.
Pynchon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pynchon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Antenni trying to hold on to Pynchon's head to control him but Pynchon postures up.
Pynchon is taking a breather. Antenni says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pynchon looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Antenni wants to control but Pynchon is keeping busy.
Pynchon lands strikes from half guard.
Pynchon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.


It looks like Ari Antenni has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pynchon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Pynchon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pynchon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Pynchon not doing much here.
Antenni is trying to stand up here but Pynchon is controlling him well.
Pynchon lands with a punch from half guard.
Pynchon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Pynchon working over Antenni with some ground and pound. Antenni looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Pynchon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pynchon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Antenni has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pynchon is working away from the top position though.

That has opened up Ari Antenni's cut even more.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pynchon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Antenni with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


The cut above Ari Antenni's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pynchon is nestled in close to Antenni, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ari Antenni has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thomas Pynchon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.


Ari Antenni's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ari Antenni's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Thomas Pynchon!
After winning the bout, Thomas Pynchon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
