Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Punani!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punani throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Thomas throws a left and a right that both miss
and Punani counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Punani moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Thomas chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Punani can pounce on him.
Thomas misses with the body kick
and Punani connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Punani closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thomas did well to prevent Punani getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Punani seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Thomas is looking to get back to full guard here but Punani has managed to pass to side control instead.
Punani cracks Thomas with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punani landing a few strikes.
Thomas is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Punani trying to control the action but Thomas is working from the bottom.
Thomas wants to get back to his feet but Punani drags him back down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punani working the ground and pound.
Thomas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Punani looks up at the clock and then as Thomas takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Punani smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Punani in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Thomas looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Punani turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harry Punani!
