Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joao Rill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mao Zedong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zedong dives in and scores a takedown into Rill's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Zedong wants to control from the top but Rill keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zedong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zedong content to stall in guard here.
Zedong stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Zedong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rill is fending him off so far but Zedong persists. Nope, Rill circles away and we're back to standing.
Zedong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rill napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Rill's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Zedong decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rill to his feet.
Zedong keeps the fight on the outside.
Rill gets caught napping as Zedong dives in and scores a takedown. Rill manages to retain guard.

Rill tries to close the distance and clinch but Zedong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rill moves into the clinch.
Zedong wants to take the fight to the mat but Rill manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Zedong blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Zedong breaks the clinch.

Zedong tries to keep at a distance but Rill has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rill managing to block the knees to the body from Zedong.
Zedong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Zedong tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rill just stands there and leans against the cage.
Zedong has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Zedong drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rill gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Zedong wants to break the clinch but can't.

Zedong avoids the elbow strike from Rill, against the cage.
Rill pulls Zedong into guard.
Zedong engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zedong on the ground.
Zedong wants to control from the top but Rill keeps moving.
Zedong won't allow Rill to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zedong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rill manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zedong manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Zedong slips a jab and a cross from Rill.
Zedong shoots in looking for a takedown but Rill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Zedong's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Zedong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rill's waist but Rill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zedong off to one side.
Zedong throws a right and a left that both miss.
Joao Rill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zedong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rill moves into the clinch.
Rill works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rill tries to pull guard but Zedong won't allow it.
Zedong lands a nice elbow.
Zedong tries for a takedown. No joy.

Rill wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rill tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Zedong's elbow.
A short body shot lands from Rill as the two fighters clinch.
Rill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Rill tries to pull guard but Zedong holds him up against the cage and eventually Rill drops back down to his feet.

Rill tries to throw a body punch but Zedong avoids it by throwing Rill back against the cage.
Rill throws an elbow but it misses.
Zedong wants to break free but Rill has control.
Rill tries to pull guard but Zedong holds him up against the cage and eventually Rill drops back down to his feet.
Rill jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zedong walks away with a smile on his face. Rill gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rill throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Zedong sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rill tries to clinch up but Zedong circles away and keeps his distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rill is defended easily by Zedong.
Rill defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zedong.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rill chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Zedong can pounce on him.
Zedong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zedong scores with a takedown into Rill's guard.
Zedong wants to control from the top but Rill keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rill has momentary wrist control but Zedong slips an elbow through the middle.

Zedong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rill dives on top into guard.
Rill is looking to work some ground and pound but Zedong has wrist control.
Rill with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Zedong pulls Rill in close to prevent any damage.
Let's hope that Zedong has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Zedong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rill manages to get himself to full guard.
Rill on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rill tries to get out of the position.
