Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stewart comes to the cage accompanied by Celly cel - Its Goin Down Tonight . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donald Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erik Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bennett fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stewart manages to avoid it.
Stewart takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bennett thuds his right hand into Stewart's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bennett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Stewart swings widly with a right hand
and Bennett counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Stewart swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stewart thows a body shot but no joy.
The fighters circling - Bennett throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bennett throws a solid leg kick but Stewart takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bennett.
Stewart takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


It looks like Donald Stewart has been cut.
Bennett takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bennett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stewart moves away.

Stewart takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bennett. Stewart does a little dance to reset his feet.

Stewart doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Bennett gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Erik Bennett is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A big right from Stewart misses.
Bennett pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Stewart throws a leg kick which misses Bennett's front leg but catches the back leg as Bennett tries to avoid it.
Bennett walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stewart checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Stewart just misses with a punch to the body.
Stewart looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Stewart lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bennett has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bennett and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Stewart is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bennett's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bennett can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bennett wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bennett manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stewart sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bennett's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bennett is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bennett is looking for a sweep. Stewart is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stewart is stalling here. Bennett is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stewart seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bennett has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Bennett works to advance to full mount. Stewart defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bennett prevents Stewart from getting the reversal.
Bennett is landing with some decent strikes but Stewart is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bennett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stewart is looking to escape.
Bennett lands a big shot there that rocks Stewart but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Bennett throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stewart pulls Bennett in close to his closed guard and prevents Bennett from doing any damage or advancing position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bennett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stewart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stewart fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bennett has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Erik Bennett seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bennett thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bennett looks to score with a jab to the body but Stewart is just out of range.
Bennett steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stewart.

Stewart throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bennett.
Bennett lands with a hook. Stewart tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

and Stewart makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Stewart shoots in looking for a takedown. Bennett tries to sprawl out of it but Stewart keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bennett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stewart shoots in for a takedown but Bennett shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donald Stewart. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Donald Stewart will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bennett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stewart is working away from the top position though.

Stewart frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bennett is wriggling around trying to escape.

It looks like Erik Bennett has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
